Today, the students celebrated their accomplishments of the year by watching a movie in class, Coraline.

the Book Fair!
Today, students displayed their book projects in the library during our "book fair." Students visited the book fair and brought their summer reading book marks so that they could take notes on 2 cool books they saw that they might like to read during summer reading.
It was great success!

The last of the cross-curricular projects
Today, we finished up the last of the cross-curricular project presentations and students assessed each others' presentations. Then, students had time to finish up their Book Fair projects because tomorrow is Book Fair Day!

Cross-curricular project presentations
Today, some students presented their cross-curricular projects and assessed their classmates based on what they taught them. Then, those who watched presentations assessed the presenter.
After all presentations for today were complete, students played games.
Homework: If you're presenting tomorrow, make sure you have your project ready to go. Work on your book fair project that is due this Thursday.

Working on book fair projects
Today, Miss D. continued to meet with students in conferencing about their performance in Humanities. Students had one last day to work on their book fair projects, which are due on Thursday.
Tomorrow begins presentations of Cross-Curricular projects in class. Remember which day you are presenting and be prepared to do so!

End of term conferences and Book Fair projects!
Today, Miss D. conferenced with each student about end-of-term reports. Students also had time to work by themselves or with their book group on the Book Fair project which is due next Thursday.
Students may continue to work on the book fair project over the weekend or they may choose to finish it up in class on Monday.
Remember that your cross-curricular project presentations will be next Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. If you forget which day you will present, look at the schedule under "Class News" to the right.

Cross-curricular choice projects
Miss Devine was absent yesterday. Students had time today to work on their cross-curricular choice projects. They should be able to turn in a completed cross-curricular project and assessment tomorrow at the start of class. Tomorrow we will begin working on our book fair projects.

Working on the choice project!
Today, students finished up the final draft of the cross-curricular essay and turned it in. Then, they began work on the teaching part of their project and the choice project that will go along with it. Students are required to create a project, use it to teach their classmates and then come up with a way to assess their classmates' learning.

Essays- finishing the final copy!
Today, students worked on the final draft of their cross-curricular essays. All final draft of essays are due tomorrow in class. The first draft must be checked by a teacher before a student begins the final draft. Students who had completed the essay began work on the Choice Project/Teaching portion of their project.

Reading groups & essay writing...
Today, the students had time to meet with their reading groups. Ms. Devine handed out the rubric for the Book Fair project and students discussed their ideas for what they might do for the project when they finish their books. Then, students worked on their essay for the Cross-Curricular project. First draft of essays must be checked by a teacher before writing the final draft. Final essays are due on Tuesday.

Research on the internet
Today, students continued to research for their cross-curricular project. They were able to use internet resources in addition to the books, encyclopedias and magazines that they have been using.

Today, students continued to conduct research using books, magazines, newspapers and encyclopedias. Teachers broke students into project advisory groups and met with their advisees about the progress of research.

Today we began the research process and headed to the library to begin gathering information from books, encyclopedias and magazines on our topic. Any internet research you can gather at home would be great. Bring it in.
